This collectible book was written by Marlin Perkins, host of "Wild Kingdom," a popular television show of the 1960s. Before Perkins gained national fame, he had a television show about animals that was popular among Chicagoans in the 1950s. It was filmed at the Lincoln Park Zoo.I bought this book because it has such wonderful and lavishly illustrated stories about animals. It's great for reading aloud or for independent reading. It would also make an awesome keepsake for someone who grew up in Chicago in the 50s or 60s.
This book is library-bound hardcover, 96 pages, printed in 1954 and in good-to-acceptable condition. Sorry....this one's sold.
